Research Project

My research focuses on heterogeneous transition-metal catalysts, which are used in alkane metathesis. This work is performed via alkane dehydrogenation/hydrogenation, in tandem with olefin metathesis. The catalysts of choice, currently, are an iridium-based pincer dehydrogenation catalyst, along with rhenium-based olefin metathesis catalyst. This work is in collaboration with research groups at Rutgers University, and UNC-Chapel Hill. This project is funded by the NSF CENTC center.
